From an outdated, unmaintainable website to an elegant online presence driving reservations.

Overview

Ichi Katsu is Glen Waverly’s most popular Tonkatsu specialist, known for their delicious food and inviting restaurant ambience. When we first met with the team, they were unable to update their old website after their previous developer stopped responding. The existing site was basic and didn’t do justice to what Ichi Katsu had to offer — it lacked photos of the restaurant and food, and didn’t capture the atmosphere of dining there.

After understanding their goals, we agreed that the main purpose of the new website would be to drive more reservations through their booking platform, OpenTable.

Showcasing the Food and Driving Bookings

We designed a user journey that introduced Ichi Katsu to visitors, showcased their menu, and built trust with embedded online reviews. The client had a collection of stunning, high-quality photos of their dishes and the restaurant interior, which we used to help portray the delicious food and welcoming ambience elegantly throughout the site.

Alongside the beautiful imagery, we placed clear, strategically positioned calls to action, encouraging visitors to book a table after exploring the menu, learning more about the restaurant, or reading through customer reviews.

The end result was a highly optimised website that beautifully showcases Ichi Katsu’s food and atmosphere, attracts strong organic traffic through search engines, and drives consistent table bookings for the restaurant.
