Create a website
There are many reasons why you need a website for your business. Your website should be easy to navigate, visually appealing, and optimised for search engines. Here are some tips to create a high performing website:
- Create useful content: People typically visit your website to solve a problem, research your company or to get in touch with you. Note down common questions you get from existing customers and take the time to write blog posts that answer them. When people search for answers to those questions, your website is more likely to show in search results.
- Have a clear goal for converting visitors into customers: Do you want people to call you, fill in a form or take some other type of action? Clearly define what you want website visitors to do and place CTAs (call to actions) strategically throughout your website to guide them through the process
Collect reviews
Whenever I’m looking to purchase a product or service, I always try to find reviews to make sure that whatever I’m buying is going to be good. Reviews have a massively positive impact on your online presence and add a lot of credibility to your business name.
- Always ask for reviews: After every successful transaction, send your customer an email or SMS asking them leave a review about your business. We suggest focusing on Google reviews but Facebook reviews are also great if you have a strong Facebook presence. There may also be other industry specific review websites you’ll want to focus on to build up your reviews.
Ask for referrals
Have you ever asked a friend or family member where to find a good restaurant? Where you should get your car serviced or if they can recommend a plumber they know? Before a customer transacts with you they need to trust you first, referrals fast forward the trust building process and make the sale much faster and easier.
- Offer past customers an incentive for referring you business: Send past customers an email twice a year offering them a discount or cashback for giving you referrals. Make it clear that they’ll only get paid if they become a customer. You can a bulk emailing using the free plan on Mailchimp or Sendgrid. Use a free Google Form to collect referrals into a spreadsheet so you can keep track of who you owe.
Follow the steps in this article and you will be well on the way to generating more leads for your business. If you have any questions or need assistance with implementing any of the above, please get in touch and we’ll be glad to help.
