Ichi Katsu

From an unmaintainable website to a high-converting online presence
Ichi Katsu is Glen Waverley’s most popular Tonkatsu specialist, known for its high-quality food and inviting dining experience. When we first engaged with the team, their existing website was outdated and could no longer be updated after their previous developer became unresponsive.
The goal was to replace the old site with a modern website that showcased the restaurant’s food and ambience, while driving more table bookings through OpenTable.

An outdated website limiting visibility and bookings
The existing website was basic, outdated, and unmaintainable, preventing the team from making updates or keeping content current. It also failed to showcase the quality of the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant, making it difficult to build trust with potential customers. Without strong visuals or a clear booking journey, the site was not effectively converting visitors into reservations.
Showcasing the experience and driving reservations
We designed a visually engaging website that highlights Ichi Katsu’s food and dining experience using high-quality imagery of the dishes and restaurant interior. The site was structured to introduce the brand, showcase the menu, and build trust through embedded reviews.
Clear and strategically placed calls-to-action were integrated throughout the user journey, guiding visitors towards booking a table via OpenTable after exploring the site. The result was a streamlined experience that made it easy for users to move from browsing to booking.

Turning website visitors into table bookings
The new website provides a polished and engaging online presence that reflects the quality of the restaurant and its dining experience. Improved visibility in search results has helped attract more potential customers, while the clear booking journey supports a consistent flow of table reservations.
